Schedule Of Boxing Events

Won't you be there in the front row of the stands to support your favorite boxer? The London Olympic Boxing Event 2012 held in Excel Centre will host a series of boxing events, both for male and female contestants. This multipurpose venue will also be the hosting centre of various other Olympic and Paralympic sports. It will be for the first time that London will host women's boxing event with three categories. It would amaze you to know that at the Olympic Games, during the 7th century B.C, boxers wrapped strips of leather around their fists for the fight. Later, the rules and regulations were modified in 1867. Since its inception, which took place in 1904, this competition has given the world stars like Cassius Clay (now Mohammed Ali), George Foreman, Oscar de la Hoya, etc. All these famed personalities have won Olympic gold in the past.
