The Olympic and Paralympic Village in Olympic Park is being built for the upcoming London 2012 Olympics games which is going to be held from 27th of July to 12th of August, 2012 . After the announcement of London as the venue for Olympics 2012, the Olympic Delivery Authority began construction work of Olympic and Paralympic Village in June 2008. The Olympic and Paralympic Village includes 11 residential plots with over 2,818 new apartments, gardens, balconies and spacious courtyards. The Olympic Delivery Authority, the organization in charge of infrastructure development for 2012 London Olympics games delivered the Olympic Village to the London 2012 Organizing Committee on January 27, 2012. This sprawling village is spread across 11 residential plots, complete with spacious courtyards, gardens and balconies. A total of 2,818 new apartments have been built to accommodate the athletes and other staffs. Also, it is strategically built close to the Olympics venue giving a panoramic view of the entire site and is easily accessible by feet.

Olympic And Paralympic Village 2012 London Olympics
The 2.5sq km of land in east London that was once industrial land has been transformed into vibrant village inside the Olympic Park to house athletes participating in the Olympics games. The Olympic Park is being designed by the EDAW Consortium. The Olympic Park contains Olympic village and sporting venues such as the Olympic stadium and Aquatics Centre. The park also has observation tower and Britain's largest piece of public art. The southern part of the Park has riverside gardens, events, markets, bars and cafes giving festive look and celebrative mood of the Olympics games. The northern part of the park has public space, green techniques to manage flood and rain water and home for wild life species such as kingfishers and otters. The overall Olympic Parkland contains 300,000 wetland plants, nearly 4,000 semi-mature trees and over ten football fields rich with meadows for the London 2012 Olympics Games. The 2012 London Summer Olympics will feature 26 sports in 39 disciplines where as Paralympic Games will feature a total of 20 sports and 21 disciplines.

During The Game
The Olympic and Paralympic Village will be the home to hundreds and thousands of athletes and officials of 2012 Olympics games. The village also houses restaurants, shops, media, health care centre and leisure facilities. There is an exclusive place called Village Plaza where athletes can meet their friends and family. Each and every residence in the village is being equipped with state of art accommodation, accessibility to elevators, wireless networking and internet. The village offers back of house operations for athletes when they need transport and catering services. Besides the athletes can also have exposure to travel and leisure facilities as the village is situated close to Stratford City complex. After The Game
After the Olympics, the village will be turned into 2,800 new residential complex including 1,379 affordable homes backed by parks, transportation network, open space and education campus for children. The Olympic and Paralympic Village will go down to history as the lasting legacy of new housing complex for east London communities. However, the Olympic Park will be named as Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth.
