Russian Empire at Olympics

Over the course of its history, Russia has participated at the modern Olympic Games on several occasions, but as different nations. As the Russian Empire, the entity first participated at the 1900 Olympic Games. Thereafter it competed in 1908 and 1912 Games. Russian athletes again competed at the Olympics, as the Soviet Union at the 1952 Summer Olympic Games. After the disintegration of the former Soviet Union in 1991, Russia participated as part of the Unified Team in the 1992 Summer Games.
