List of medals won by Spain in Olympic games. The tally includes records, gold, silver and bronze medalists in various olympic games and athletics events.
Spain at Olympics
Spain first sent its athletes to the Olympic Games in 1900. Thereafter it did not participate in 1904, 1908 and 1912 Games. Except the 1936 Summer Games, the nation has sent athletes to compete in all Summer Olympic Games since 1920. The Spanish Olympic Committee (COE, Comité Olímpico Español), which was created in 1924, looks after the preparation and organization of the Olympic team. Sailing has remained the top medal-producing sport for Spain.
