Canoe Slalom
Canoe and Kayak Slalom may include a 250m course but the powerful force of the rapids is mighty enough to send jitters down the audiences' spine and to topple athletes over. Though Canoeing (Sprint) has been a part of Olympics since 1936 Berlin Olympics, Canoeing (Slalom) made its debut 36 years later in 1972 Munich Olympics and was included as a permanent sport in 1992 Barcelona Olympics. The thrashing and crashing waves, natural and artificially created, offer just the best racing experience. In 2012 London Olympics, the competition will set off on 29th July, at Lee Valley White Water Centre, and will end on 2nd August. A total number of 82 athletes, 61 men and 21 women, will compete for the gold medals in different events. Here's a list of all the gold medals won in the previous Olympics.
