Inspired form motocross, BMX cycling, the newest sport in the world of Olympics, formed its own identity during the 1960s in California. However, it took around 40 or so years for this enthralling sport to be included in the Olympics of 2008 held in Beijing. And the first of the gold medals were won by Maris Strombergs (Men) and Anne-Caroline Chausson (Women). In 2012 London Olympics, it will be rather exciting to see competitors do acrobatics with the bicycle and shoot for the gold. A total of 48 athletes, 32 men and 16 women will be participating in this sporting competition that will be organized at Olympic Park - BMX Track from 8th to 10th August.
