since its beginning. It has always been popular among the sports
lovers and women athletes have earned lots of laurels for
themselves. Jackie Joyner-Kersee won three gold, one silver and two
bronze medals over four consecutive Olympic Games. Babe Didrikson
Zaharias won three Olympic medals. Wilma Rudolph overcame polio to
win Olympic gold. Florence Griffith Joyner set world records in 100
