Women's Double Sculls made entry at Olympic Games in 1976. Svetlana Otsetova and Zdravka Yordanova of Bulgaria won gold, Sabine Jahn and Petra Boesler of east Germany won silver while Leonora Kaminskaite and Genovaite Ramoškiene of former Soviet Union won bronze in the inaugural event.
