Olympics History
Table tennis made its Olympic debut as a full medal sport during Seoul
Olympic Games. It was never played at the Olympics as a demonstration
sport. Since the late 1950s, the Chinese have been the dominant nation
in table tennis. Four table tennis events are held on the Olympics
program: singles and doubles for men and women. The mixed doubles event
is not a part of the Olympics, although it is played in other world
championships.
